Kidneys

are vital organs...

Kidneys are vital organs of the body, which enable us to keep in good health. However, most people ignore the essential functions of the kidney. Healthy diets and drinking habits as well as healthy lifestyle are key steps to protect your kidneys. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in particular is recognised as a major and growing global healthcare problem, affecting 10% to 16% of the general population worldwide. This is due to a number of factors including exposure to conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, which are the two major causes of CKD.

This website, created by Danone Research, guides visitors through the complex but vital functions of kidneys, explains why and how to keep kidneys healthy, and presents what happens when kidneys are at risk.
Official partner of World Kidney Day, Danone Research, the Danone R&D community, is keen to raise public awareness on kidney health. This action is fully aligned with the company’s mission, which is to bring health through food to as many people as possible.
